Donations are primarily used to subsidize rent payments of the families served by Faith Community Homes. Donations may also be used for financial assistance including, but not limited to, child care, educational costs for parents working to improve their employment skills, and Case Management assistance for families in the program.
Rents for a modest apartment in our community range between $900 and $1,000 per month. Guidelines recommend not spending more than 30% of a family’s income on rent. That means a family needs to earn at least $36,000 per year, or $3,000 per month, to be able to afford modest rents in our communities. Families coming to Faith Community Homes often have incomes less than $24,000 per year when they start in our program.
Donations go to families right here in your community.
You are helping local families become financially stable and productive.
You are helping the children in these families have a healthier home life.
You are strengthening your own community.
You can feel good that you are helping a neighbor in great need.
Thank you for your support of our program to help low income families in Arlington Heights and Palatine. Donations such as yours have helped families in many ways. For example, a single mother has an apartment without fear of eviction and her children attend a school nearby, or a couple with 2 children who have been able to increase their family income, get out of debt and are able to pay all their bills without fear of being homeless. Then there is the family who was able to purchase a home five years after finishing our program because they learned to budget and manage their finances. Your donation goes a long way to making these kinds of things happen. Thank you.
